We regret to inform shareholders and supporters that ’98 has had to be taken out of traffic following the discovery of some defects during a routine maintenance examination. The wheels on No.2 Bogie were found to be out of specification and a trip to a wheel lathe is required. In addition, the source of a suspected oil leak has been traced to the oil cooler unit which has rotted through and will need sending away for specialist repairs.
The cost of using the wheel lathe aren’t as expensive as I had imagined but the transport costs to and from the lathe are as eye-watering as usual so if any shareholder, existing or new would like to contribute towards the cost of these repairs then please send me a message.
