As you may know, D8098 has been out of traffic since Christmas with a number of issues – the biggest being the need to replace the A3 Cylinder Head. Thankfully we have some spares and one was sent away for refurbishment and then following one false start thanks to Storm Eunice, the replacement work took place on 27/2/22 at Rothley C&W by a team comprising of Steve, Josh, Tim and Georgia. The loco was successfully run up after the works and now needs a scheduled air tank inspection and an A-Exam before it can re-enter traffic. Photos courtesy of Georgia. It was also a rare opportunity for T1LC to use our own A frame which lived at the carriage works for just such occasions!
