Work remains focused on 31463, in the radiator compartment all faces where the radiator elements go were sanded flat where chemical metal was applied. The frame around where the radiators element live was stripped, cleaned and painted. New studs have been fitted and the radiator elements with new gaskets have been installed.
The concrete block for the boiler compartment has come inside the building, underneath had alot of rust so this has been needle gunned and painted in hammerite. The outer edge of the ring was also needle gunned and painted. The boiler room floor has been cleaned and painted. The concrete block has now been craned back into the loco and secured. The boiler room window frame that was repaired a couple of weeks ago has been painted.
The roof braces have also come in the shed and the middle of the u channel has been painted in hammerite.
31463 has been outside and had further steam cleaning.
